Common Challenges and Misconceptions

Some students may confuse a multiple with a factor and write numbers that divide the target instead of numbers produced by multiplying it. Others may lose the pattern after a missing value. A child may also pick a number that belongs to only one of the two sequences in the pattern challenge. Encourage your child to think of multiples as the answers in a multiplication table: 3, 6, 9, 12, and so on.
